Our NPOP-certified, 100% organic Wild Forest Honey is harvested from the forest sanctuaries above 4,000 ft in the Aravalli hills. One of the world’s oldest mountain ranges, dating back 3.2 billion years, the Aravalli Range's unique ecology hosts a wide range of exotic trees.

MORHAV Organics’ rich golden honey is foraged by wild bees from over 40 rare flowering species. A golden, richly layered nectar, it offers a harmonious medley of tastes, earthy and floral, with woody undertones and a hint of bitterness from the neem and karanja blooms.

Used in sacred rituals since Vedic times

The empirical evidence of the use of honey—gathered from wild bees foraging natural forests —for religious purposes go back to Vedic times. The Rig Vedic chant, ‘Madhu vātā ṛtāyate madhukṣaranti sindhavaḥ…’ implies the use of honey in sacred rituals by metaphorically referring to honey as a symbol of prosperity, health and the sweetness of nature. The Atharva Veda, Upanishads and ancient Ayurvedic texts such as the Charakha Samhita too, mention madhu in a symbolic spiritual context with healing qualities.

Today, our Wild Forest Honey or van-madhukam, is collected much the same way as in the Vedic times - from undomesticated bees foraging the wild forests of the Aravalli hills. Raw, pure and packed with therapeutic qualities and rich symbolism, the honey is the perfect ingredient for Panchamrita – ‘the drink of the gods’, a sacred mixture of five special foods used in holy rituals.

Wild forest honey is also offered in yajnas to propitiate the gods; and to anoint deities during the abhishekham ceremonies. It is an important element used in all sacred sacraments or sanskars such as childbirth and marriage ceremonies. Today, Wild Forest Honey is used in religious rituals by all who understand the value of age-old Vedic wisdom.

Relevance to contemporary hospitality units:

It is particularly relevant for the HoReCa industry as it offers a sophisticated bouquet of finely blended tastes, pairing well with artisanal cheeses, grilled meats and elegant desserts. At the back-end, it goes into marinades, salad dressings, glazes and cocktails.

Particularly for wellness-forward hospitality units and Ayurvedic dining, Wild Forest Honey is the right fit – raw, organic & revered in Ayurveda as a natural detox agent. Since MORHAV honey is largely collected by local foragers using eco-sensitive methods, it’s also the choice of green-conscious outlets.

Health Benefits of Wild Forest Honey:

  • Respiratory Support: Van-madhukam, or wild forest honey, was traditionally used by the tribals in the area to treat cough, cold, and throat irritations. The efficacy has been empirically proven.
  • Helps Heal Wounds: Packed with natural enzymes such as glucose oxidase that produce hydrogen peroxide, this honey is especially effective in healing skin irritations, wounds and cuts.
  • Improves sleep: The natural sugars in the honey help increase production of serotonin, the ‘happy hormone’ that promotes easy slumber.
  • Natural Beauty Aid: An antibacterial hydrant, our honey is a go-to ingredient for face masks, particularly for dull or acne-prone skin, and dry scalp.
  • Low Glycemic Index: An excellent sugar substitute, especially for diabetics, when had in moderation.
  • Promotes Gut Health: Natural enzymes in the honey help regulate digestive processes.
  • High in Antioxidants: The honey foraged from the wild forest trees are particularly rich in antioxidants that keep harmful free radicals at bay, ensuring holistic health.
  • Boosts Immunity: Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory compounds from the wild flora help build up inner strength.

  • Works well as a natural sweetener in desserts and bakes, and may be used as a topping on roti, toast, crackers and more.
  • With its rich, earthy sweetness with a slight pungency reminiscent of mustard fields, mustard honey, particularly, is a favourite of wellness and fine-dining enthusiasts in the US. It is extensively used for marinades, dressings, glazes and gourmet pairings with foods such as rare cheeses.
  • Mixed in warm water or herbal tea helps soothe sore throats & coughs, and heal wounds.
  • The glucose and fructose in honey make it a source of quick energy. Add to lime juice or any drink of choice.
  • A home remedy for digestion, immunity, and allergies.
  • Speeds up wound healing as it is packed with antibacterial and antifungal properties. Creates a protective barrier and keeps moist wounds clean. It may also be used to soothe minor burns.
  • Helps in weight loss in several ways:
boosts metabolism with high enzyme content
satisfies sweet cravings without spiking blood sugar
found to help prevent fat accumulation when paired with cinnamon or apple cider vinegar.
  • Great for radiant beauty. Honey is a natural humectant, drawing in moisture and keeping your skin (and scalp) hydrated and youthful; its antibacterial properties help reduce breakouts. Great ingredient in DIY masks.
